Note: The FDA Globalization Act of 2008/2009 is now the Safe Cosmetic Act of 2010. While the legislation is still pending legislation, it is closer to finalization, and virtually means the end to all small business like Lady J's Castle, as well as Lady J's suppliers. If this legislation goes through, in it's current form, Lady J's Castle will most likely close up shop. In addition, the financial burden to be place on the home based soap and cosmetic industry, as a whole, will most likely put the entire industry out of business. The politicians working toward this legislation have not, and are not listening to anything being presented to them by the industry advocates,working on our industry's behalf. The only businesses who will be able to survive the Safe Cosmetic Act of 2010 are the large corporations, who have the capitol and resources to adhere to the new legislation. But then again, they are the reason this legislation is even being looked at. For those of you who buy handcrafted bath, body, and home products from the small handcrafting artisan businesses, such as Lady J's Castle, already know that we offer a safer, more wholesome, and earth friendly product than any of the large corporation. That is the reason our industry has grown and florished. This legislation will take away those rights, YOUR RIGHTS, as the options will no longer exists.
